The 2008 Annual Day De Dada Performance Art Show will be at the Unitarian Church of Staten Island on April 12. The theme is "Pot Luck" and participants/audience are requested to bring their Dada acts for an open mike (5 minutes maximum) and food for a potluck feast after the show. You can participate now by sending in a verb, noun, adjective and adverb to be included in the Day de Dada Mad Lib Manifesto to be read at the show. Send in interesting or absurb words by email to madlib@daydedada.com by April 1. No email? You can call-718-874-3089. Are you a visual person, who prefers images to words? Send your images to Day de Dada, 44 Clinton Ave., Staten Island, NY, 10301.

Meditate- Today is Parinnirvana Day

Once a year - on either February 8 or February 15 - depending on cultural preference - Buddhists around the world celebrate Parinnirvana Day.

A commemoration of the moment at which Buddha left his physical body behind, achieving a deeper, truer, more transcendent state of being and understanding often referred to as "nothingness."

The holiday reminds followers that death is liberation - from suffering, longing and any sort of anger or displeasure.

No matter what your spiritual preference is, honor your inner Buddhist today, by taking a few minutes out to meditate. Clear your mind in order to commune with the world and its energies and you may not achieve Nirvana, but you'll undoubtedly experience a much needed moment of peace.

Day de Dada worked the crowd at the Lower East Side Festival today and got 6 manifestos from words contributed from people attending the festival.

Here is one that is a compilation of lines from the six-

We the kaleidoscope of the Lower East Side,
in order to form a more perfect attitude,
establish clouds, insure domestic daisies,
hyperventilate for the common rendition,
promote the general deBush,
and secure the blessings of plagiarists,
to ourselves and the skies,
do ordain and establish this Day de Dada Manifesto.
